Photographing the Tiburon AAPI Heritage Festival in Marin County
Over the past two years I’ve had the honor of photographing the Tiburon AAPI Heritage Festival, a vibrant community celebration held each spring at Zelinsky Park in Tiburon, California.
As a Marin County photographer, I love documenting local events that celebrate culture, art, and community. The festival is full of beautiful moments — traditional performances, joyful music, colorful cultural displays, and families gathering together in one of the most scenic spots in Tiburon.
I photographed the festival in both 2024 and 2025, capturing a wide range of performances, community moments, and portraits from throughout the day.
Some of my photographs from the 2025 festival have been selected for the Tiburon Town Hall Art Exhibit, which will be on view April 1 through June 30. The judges will be choosing three images from the collection for the exhibit, and I’m excited to see which photographs they select.
Below is a sneak peek of some of the images from the festival.
Events like this are a joy to photograph because they combine event photography, street photography, and storytelling, capturing both the energy of the performances and the quieter moments of connection happening throughout the day.
